Information and Communication Department is one among other departments in Mitunguu Technical Training Institute. Our institute is a Centre of Excellence in ICT and Electrical/ Electronic Engineering. The ICT Department is core in ensuring that the Institute maintains and upholds local and international management information systems standards (ISO 27001:2013). The ICT Department is therefore working with other institute’s departments internally and external stakeholders to ensure that information security is preserved. The ICT Department Objectives are:
- Training ICT courses in the ICT Department.
- Training ICT Support courses in other departments.
- ICT Support within the institute.
- Computer hardware and software maintenance.
- Information security and cyber terrorism management.
- Institute’s security surveillance, control and management.
- Computer hardware and software acquisition, distribution, upgrades, installation and disposal.
- Internet, WIFI and Local Area Network (LAN) management and administration.
- Institute’s website management and administration.
- Administration and management of institute's social communication portals.
The ICT Department prides itself from a team of qualified staff with a growing number of ICT Trainees over the years. The department has aligned its self with Technical and Vocational, Education and Training (TVET) requirements and the Vision 2030 Strategic Thinking. Some of the department’s resources include: two fully equipped computer lab with Internet connection, sufficient and state of the art lecture rooms and a smart classroom.
